About Me

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy as an independent candidate for the position of Sheriff of Broward County. My decision stems from a genuine commitment to the values of integrity, ethics, and dedicated service, forged over 28 years as a United States Marine Corps veteran and law enforcement professional.

Having grown up in Broward County amidst humble beginnings, raised by a single parent while working from a young age to support my siblings, I understand the challenges our community faces. This intimate connection drives my belief that it's time for a profound change—one that the people of Broward County will appreciate and benefit from for years to come.

My vision for the Broward County Sheriff's Office is one of positivity, fiscal accountability, freedom from controversy, and a focus on building a safe and friendly agency. I am dedicated to leading the Sheriff's Office in this direction, and I seek your support in creating a professional public service agency that we can all trust and take pride in.

This is our community, our home, and together, let's work towards making it safer and more united. I bring to this role not only my extensive law enforcement experience but also the values instilled in me being raised in Broward County, husband, and father of two sons—one serving in the United States Marine Corps and the other as a firefighter. Additionally, I am a proud grandfather.

My journey includes receiving a football scholarship with studies in Criminal Justice, studies in the Japanese language, and theology at the Biblical Institute Church of God Ministries of Jesus Christ  International. As a Marine Corps veteran, I achieved meritorious promotions for excellence of service and received specialized training in counter-terrorism. My commitment to community service is reflected in my involvement with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Church of God Ministries of Jesus Christ International.

Throughout my 28 years in law enforcement, I've served in various capacities, from Patrol to the Police Motorcycle Unit, Detective Bureau, Field Force, and Training Unit at the Broward Sheriff's Office and the Oakland Park Police Department.  I've been recognized with numerous commendations and awards for bravery and service, including the prestigious Gold Cross for Valor.

I bring to the table 26 years of experience as an instructor in various areas of law enforcement procedures and practices, including Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). My operational planning expertise was honed at the Oakland Park Police Department, where I also gained experience in budget and policy review, ensuring adherence to high standards.

I am well-versed in the requirements for C.A.L.E.A. certification, a knowledge base acquired through active participation in past campaigns for Broward Sheriff candidates. With your support, I am eager to embark on this journey to transform the Broward County Sheriff's Office and contribute to the betterment of our beloved community.
